Lucknow, Mar 20 (UNI) Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police busted a gang involved in preparing fake mark sheets with the arrest of three persons involved in preparing fake mark sheets on Thursday, an official spokesman said here.
The spokesperson said that based on an information, the STF nabbed three miscreants identified as Altaf Raja, Krishna Kumar Shrivastava and Lakshya Rathore on the service lane near the boundary wall of Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in the Para area at around 4 AM and recovered fake mark sheets, certificates and other documents of various education boards, universities and educational institutions from their possession.
He said that during interrogation, the arrested accused Altaf Raja revealed that he has a gang which prepares various types of fake and forged documents. "Earlier, he used to work with Dr SP Pandey in Delhi to prepare mark sheets by creating fake websites. In the year 2017, he was arrested along with Dr Pandey from Geeta Colony in Delhi and was sent to jail," he said.
The spokesman said that in 2019, Altaf and Lakshya Rathore went to jail in the same case along with other associates in Chanakyapuri police station, Delhi. "After being released from jail, he came to Lucknow and started doing the same work again. He used to charge 15,000 to 20,000 for fake mark sheets and other documents. This amount was divided among all the people," he said.
He said that Altaf used to send fake documents to people through courier. "Till now he has prepared more than 2,000 fake documents of different types in Lucknow. "Another accused Krishna Kumar Srivastava said that he too had gone to jail in 2009 from Vikas Nagar police station in a fake mark sheet case," he said.
