New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday slammed the BJP-JDU government in Bihar for allegedly preventing Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi from attending the ‘Shiksha Nyay Samvad’ programme at Ambedkar Hostel in Darbhanga.
Kharge on his social media handle X questioned the administration’s actions, saying, “Now is it against the Constitution to communicate with Dalit, deprived and backward class students? Is it a sin to talk to them about their education, their recruitment exams, and jobs?”
Calling the move a “height of dictatorship,” Kharge said that Bihar, the "birthplace of democracy," will not forget the injustice. “Bihar will remember this and give a befitting reply to JDU-BJP when the time comes,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Congress has condemned the incident as an assault on democratic rights and social justice, and said that it will continue raising voice of the marginalised.
