Hyderabad, Apr 19 (UNI) The main opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana has decided to boycott the upcoming Hyderabad Local Body MLC elections to be held on April 23.
Addressing a preparatory meeting of party leaders and elected representatives at Telangana Bhavan, ahead of the BRS silver Jubilee celebrations, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday announced the party’s decision to stay away from the MLC election of the Hyderabad Local Authorities’ Constituency as its party does not have the required strength to win.
A whip would be issued to party councillors and strict action would be initiated if anyone ventures to defy it, he warned.
