Bengaluru, Apr 21 (UNI) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Monday launched a blistering attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, branding him a "habitual offender" who seemingly derives "twisted joy" from undermining national pride on global platforms.
"Rahul Gandhi is fast becoming a habitual offender, seemingly deriving some twisted joy from peddling falsehoods and undermining national pride on global platforms," Vijayendra said in a post on X.
Accusing the Congress MP of repeatedly belittling India and its democratic institutions during his visits abroad, Vijayendra questioned what "sadistic satisfaction" Rahul Gandhi gained from such conduct.
"As the Leader of the Opposition (in the Lok Sabha), it is not just his responsibility but his duty to represent Bharat with dignity, acting as a goodwill ambassador and upholding the nation’s honour while abroad," he stated.
The BJP leader said Rahul Gandhi's "reckless and immature rhetoric" was damaging the image of India, its Constitution, and the democratic ethos that underpins the nation.
Slamming Rahul Gandhi’s "arrogant and juvenile posturing," Vijayendra added that instead of learning from past controversies, the Congress leader appeared determined to double down on his mistakes.
"What purpose does such a leader serve when he cannot even speak of his own country with pride and respect?" he asked, before adding in a sharp jibe that Rahul Gandhi should perhaps "stick to playing his favourite Chhota Bheem games," far removed from the serious business of national discourse.
The comments come amid renewed criticism from the BJP over Rahul Gandhi's remarks during his overseas engagements, which the party has repeatedly described as "disrespectful and damaging" to India’s global standing. UNI BDN SSP
