Hyderabad, Apr 3 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to remain on high alert as heavy rains accompanied by strong winds have led to flooding in low-lying areas of Hyderabad.
He urged authorities to take necessary measures to ensure that citizens do not face any inconvenience, an official statement said on Thursday.
With waterlogging reported in several parts of the city, the Chief Minister instructed officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), police, and other concerned departments to work in coordination to address issues such as traffic disruptions and power outages. He emphasised that immediate action must be taken to restore power supply in affected areas.
Revanth Reddy has also asked the Chief Secretary (CS), Ms Shanti Kumari, to monitor the situation closely and conduct regular reviews. Special attention has been directed towards providing relief measures for residents in flood-affected colonies. Police officers have been instructed to clear traffic congestion swiftly and ensure that commuters reach their destinations safely.
Additionally, the Chief Minister has called upon district Collectors, police officers, and officials from various departments to remain vigilant, as heavy rains, strong winds, and hailstorms are being reported in other districts as well.
He stressed the importance of interdepartmental cooperation in handling the situation and safeguarding public safety.
