Bhadradri Kothagudem (Telangana) Apr 6 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday took a heartwarming step toward connecting with the public by sharing lunch with a beneficiary family of the State Government’s Fine Rice distribution scheme in Sarapaka village, Burgampadu mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
After offering prayers at the famous Sri Sita Ramachandraswamy temple in Bhadrachalam on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami, the Chief Minister visited the residence of Buram Srinivas, one of the scheme’s beneficiaries.
During the visit, CM Revanth Reddy sat down for a traditional meal with the family, demonstrating his commitment to understanding the impact of welfare initiatives at the grassroots level.
The family’s homemaker, Tulasamma, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for replacing the previously supplied coarse rice with high-quality fine rice under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
“We never preferred coarse rice. Now, we are happy to receive fine rice that we enjoy eating every day,” she told the Chief Minister.
The Fine Rice distribution scheme has become a flagship initiative in Telangana, aiming to provide quality food grains to the underprivileged at affordable rates through Fair Price Shops, thus setting a benchmark in food security.
During the interaction, the Chief Minister also enquired about other welfare schemes being implemented by the government. The family shared their satisfaction with the free electricity supply up to 200 units, subsidized cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500, and free bus travel for working women.
Tulasamma noted that these initiatives have brought tangible relief to low-income households and especially empowered women in rural areas. The CM expressed happiness over the positive feedback and reiterated his government’s commitment to people-centric governance.
The lunch with the beneficiary family marked a symbolic yet impactful gesture, reflecting the government’s resolve to ensure welfare schemes reach every deserving citizen with dignity and efficiency.
