Telangana Dy CM assures to deposit Rs 9,000 cr in 9 days

Khammam (Telangana) June 18 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Wednesday assured that the state government will deposit Rs 9,000 crore
under the Rythu Bharosa (Farmer Assurance Fund) into farmers’ accounts within nine days, as part of a large-scale investment support initiative.
Speaking at a public meeting in Janakipuram, Bonakal mandal of his Madhira constituency, Bhatti said the government is firmly committed to farmers’ welfare and timely financial support.
“In just three days, we have deposited Rs 5,215 crore covering 86.92 lakh acres of cultivable land.
By the end of nine days, Rs 9,000 crore will be credited for 1.49 crore acres of farmland across the state,” the Deputy CM stated.
He highlighted that on June 16, the disbursement of the assurance funds began under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at Professor Jayashankar Agricultural University. The funds are aimed at providing investment assistance to farmers ahead of the monsoon sowing season.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to agriculture, Bhatti said, “We are spending Rs 70,000 crore annually on farmer-centric schemes like free electricity, Rythu Bima (farmer insurance), and Rythu Bharosa (investment support), and plan to invest Rs 3.5 lakh crore over the next five years.”
Taking a jibe at the previous government, Bhatti added, “Those who ruled for ten years failed to even plant paddy. We are now turning agriculture into a celebration.”
He emphasised that the government has taken all steps to boost rice and crop production, aiming to make Telangana a national leader in agriculture.
