Telangana plans grand celebrations for International Day of Yoga at Gachibowli stadium

Hyderabad, June 20 (UNI) The Telangana AYUSH Department has made elaborate arrangements for the grand celebration of the International Day of Yoga at GMC Balayogi Sports Stadium in Gachibowli on June 21.

Medical and Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha reviewed the preparations and instructed officials to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.

As part of the celebrations, around 5,500 participants—including students from AYUSH institutions, yoga instructors, medical professionals, and schoolchildren—will take part in the mass yoga demonstration. The event is being organised in coordination with the Telangana Medical and Health Department.

The programme will begin with a yoga photo exhibition from 0620 to 0630 hours, followed by a virtual address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through LED screens from 0630 to 0700 hours. A 45-minute mass yoga session will be held from 0700 to 0745 hours.

Dignitaries, including Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Ministers Sridhar Babu, Damodar Rajanarsimha, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, and Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma will address the gathering starting at 0750 hours.

The event will conclude with the ceremonial release of balloons at 0830 hours to mark the successful celebration of Yoga Day.

Breakfast will be provided to all participants. Among the key attendees will be Ministers Vakati Srihari, Hyderabad Mayor Vijayalakshmi, and several local public representatives, showcasing a strong collective commitment to promoting the practice and benefits of yoga, official sources said on Friday.
