Telangana to host 72nd Miss World pageant from May 7

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) Telangana is set to host the prestigious 72nd Miss World pageant from May 7 to 31, providing a major platform to showcase the state's cultural heritage, tourism offerings, and modern infrastructure.

The event will see participants from 140 countries, with accomplished individuals from various fields, including healthcare, sports, social work, and arts.
With over 3,000 international media partners covering the pageant, Telangana aims to leverage this opportunity to boost tourism and enhance its global brand image.

To ensure visitor safety, Telangana will deploy a dedicated tourist police force and enhance surveillance measures across key locations. The state’s robust infrastructure, including the award-winning Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and efficient road and rail networks, will facilitate smooth travel.

The event will highlight Telangana's rich culture through curated experiences featuring traditional arts, crafts, and cuisine. Iconic landmarks such as Ramappa Temple, Golconda Fort, and Charminar will host key event segments, offering memorable experiences for visitors.

Hyderabad’s prominence as the "Vaccine Capital of the World" and a leading healthcare hub will be showcased, while eco-tourism initiatives promoting sites like Kawal and Amrabad Tiger Reserves will emphasize sustainability efforts.

The pageant is expected to provide economic benefits by boosting sectors such as hospitality, retail, and local arts. It will also promote Telangana’s Tourism Policy 2025-30, attracting investments in rural tourism infrastructure.

With the campaign tagline ‘Telangana, Zarur Aana’ (Telangana, A Must-Visit), the state aims to leave a lasting impression on global travellers, according to an official statement here on Tuesday.
