Tension prevails at Telangana Assembly as police arrest BRS activists

Hyderabad, Mar 17 (UNI) Tension prevailed at the Telangana Assembly on Monday as police arrested BRS activists who attempted to storm the Assembly in protest against the government's recent order banning protests and sit-ins at Osmania University (OU).

BRS activists, along with student union members, staged a dharna near the Assembly, expressing their dissatisfaction with the government's decision. As part of their protest, they attempted to march toward the Assembly to voice their demands. However, the police had already deployed heavy security and detained the activists to prevent escalation.

The government's controversial order prohibiting protests at OU has sparked outrage among BRS leaders and student groups. BRS leaders criticised the ruling party's actions, calling them anti-people and contrary to public aspirations. They also alleged that the police unnecessarily interfered with their peaceful demonstration.
