Three more Govt Degree Colleges in Tripura from this session

Agartala, May 17 (UNI) The Tripura government has decided to set up three more new Government Degree Colleges in Gomati and Dhalai districts of the state for enhancing access to higher education facilities for the rural population of the state.
Additional Secretary, Higher Education here on Saturday said as per the decision two degree colleges would be coming up, one each in Kakraban and Karbook under Gomati district and Ambassa under Dhalai district, which will start functioning from the upcoming academic session 2025–26.
“These colleges aim to provide quality education in various disciplines, contributing to the socio-economic development of the region. The courses to be offered and the intake capacity will be determined by the Department from time to time based on demand and availability of resources,” Debbarma stated.
Admissions to various courses will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of the affiliating university. Seat reservations will be governed by the latest Reservation Acts and Rules of the state government.
He mentioned that academic affairs, the examination system, and the curriculum of the college will be administered in accordance with the guidelines of the affiliating university and the department.
The required teaching and non-teaching staff, including the Principal, will be appointed by the Department. All official matters, including certificates, communications, accounts, assets, and liabilities, will be handled under the name of the colleges with immediate effect, Debbarma added.
