Tripura girls football team advances to final match of Assam Rifles Sentinels Cup

Agartala, Mar 25 (UNI) Tripura Women’s Football Team has displayed a remarkable talent in the successive matches and secured the entry to final march of the prestigious Assam Rifles Sentinels Cup 2025.
Officials here said in the semi-final match on Monday at Assam's Lokra, witnessed Tripura’s team clinching a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Assam Women’s team.
The Assam Rifles Sentinels Cup 2025 commenced with great enthusiasm on March 16 at the Lokra Garrison Football Ground, featuring seven women’s teams from across the Northeast region.
The success of Tripura Women’s Football Team is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Tripura Football Association and the Agartala Battalion of Assam Rifles, Tripura Sports Minister Tinku Roy said.
Agartala Battalion played a pivotal role by initiating the team’s participation in this esteemed tournament, providing comprehensive support in training, and addressing all administrative requirements to ensure the team’s preparedness and focus, Roy pointed out.
The much-anticipated final match is scheduled for March 28 at Laitkor, Shillong, where the Tripura team will face the formidable Assam Rifles Women’s Team.
