Trough runs from North Interior Karnataka to Gulf of Mannar: Met

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Mar 17 (UNI) A trough in westerlies runs from North Interior Karnataka to Gulf of Mannar across Tamil Nadu at 0.9 km above mean sea level, Meteorological Centre said on Monday.

In a daily weather report here, it said that light to moderate rain is likely to occur at one or two places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam from March 21 to 23 and in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on March 22 and 23.

Dry weather is likely to prevail in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next four days, in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next five days.

There will be no large change in maximum temperatures in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next five days.

Maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 2-3 degrees celsius in Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours and there will be no large change in maximum temperatures from March 19 to 21.

Dry weather prevailed over Coastal Andhra Pradesh &Yanam and Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours.

The highest maximum temperature of 40.6 degrees Celsius was recorded at Kurnool in Rayalaseema on Sunday, the report added.
