Two historysheeters hacked to death in Chennai

Chennai, Mar 17 (UNI) In a shocking incident, two historysheeters were hacked to death
by an armed gang at Kotturpuram area, in the heart of the city, past midnight on Sunday.
Police said previous enmity was said to be the reason behind the killings.
The deceased were identified as 'Padappai' Suresh and his friend/accomplice Arunkumar,
both aged 25.
The gruesome attack took place when the duo were walking and chatting between them,
when the gang arrived in three two-wheelers and surrounded them.
Sensing danger to their life, they tried to flee. But assailants chased them and attacked
them deadly weapons. Both of them suffered multiple and grievous cut injuries all over the
body and bled to death on the spot.
Acting on information, police rushed to the spot and shifted them to a nearby hospital, where
doctors declared them brought dead.
Police have formed three special teams to apprehend the suspects and are analysing the
CCTV footages in the area.
Police suspect the murders could be a sequel to the 2022 killing of Arunkumar's lover, who
is a widow and a mother of two.
Arunkumar suspected known historysheeter 'Sukku Kaapi' Suresh's hand in the killing and
was waiting for an opportune time to bump him off.
But it happened on the contrary as the suspect eliminated Arunkumar and his friend after
coming to know of his plans.
Arun and Padappai Suresh had become friends while in prison and Suresh frequently visits
Arun at his residence in Kotturpuram.
