Two killed, 2 injured as autorickshaw collides with KSRTC bus in Palakkad district

Palakkad, Apr 15 (UNI) Two members of a family were killed and two others seriously injured after an autorickshaw in which they were travelling collided with a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus at Vallekulam near Elappully in this district, on Tuesday.

According to police, the deceased were identified as autorickshaw driver Abbas Aboobacker (45) and his uncle Syed Mohammed (67).

Abbas mother Nabeesa (65) and his wife Amina (40) sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to Thrissur medical college hospital after giving first aid at district hospital, here.

The accident took place around 0900 hours in the morning. All the four family members were on the way in an autorickshaw to Palakkad to attend a funeral function. The KSRTC bus was bound to Pollachi from Palakkad.

The deceased died on the spot and the bodies have been kept at district hospital at Palakkad for post-mortem.
