Kannur, May 13 (UNI) The police on Tuesday seized two powerful steel bombs from a coconut plantation at Muliyathode near Panoor, after a raid conducted by the police following a tip- off.

According to police, the bombs were recovered from a coconut plantation, which was kept inside the bushes under a coconut tree in a plastic bucket and defused by the bomb squad , in the afternoon. Police registered a case and an investigation was going on.

The coolie workers who were visiting the plantation to pluck coconut found the bombs and alerted the police. A bomb squad from Kannur and a police team led by Thalassery ASP Kiran PB rushed to the spot and removed the bombs from the site and conducted raids at the nearby areas too.

On April 5, 2024 , a CPI(M) worker was killed and three others injured while making crude bombs from an unused house of Muliyathode and seized seven steel bombs from the site during a raid from the site , which was located near the coconut plantation, where two bombs were recovered today.
