Union MOS Agriculture reviews Agriculture schemes in Manipur

Imphal, Apr 24 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Bhagirath Choudhary visited Thoubal district on Thursday to review the agricultural activities in the district.
The minister held a meeting with District Level Officers (DLOs) at the Conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner Thoubal.
During the meeting DC Thoubal, A Subhas and other officials briefed the Minister about the activities of the Agriculture department. Deputy Commissioner also highlighted various activities being taken up in the District.
The Minister advised the District Level Officers to pay field visits for better understanding of the ground reality in implementing various schemes in the Agriculture sector. He said that farmers are the pride of our nation. Without them it is impossible for us to survive.

Deputy Commissioner also made proposals for setting up warehouses and cold storage in the district. Later, the Minister visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Thoubal to interact with the Farmers. The Minister also inspected exhibition stalls. About 15 stalls were opened showcasing various vegetables and fruits products produced with the help of KVK.
