UP: Experience spirituality, wellness at Nishadraj Park

Lucknow, May 9 (UNI) Under the ambitious initiative of the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, Nishadraj Park in Shringverpur, Prayagraj, will now offer visitors a unique blend of religious, cultural and wellness experiences.
Visitors will not only witness the historic meeting place of Lord Ram and Nishadraj, but also engage in meditation and yoga practices. Attractions like a food court, art gallery, children’s play area and lush green gardens will further enhance the experience.
Minister of Tourism and Culture Jaiveer Singh said that the park will be operated and maintained through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. "The tender process for the same has already begun. Private operators will manage amenities including food services and the yoga-meditation centre, ensuring quality and authenticity in these offerings," he said.
He said that the yoga and meditation centre within the park premises will offer tourists opportunities to participate in yoga sessions and meditation programs. "The operator will be allowed to create various packages and utilise guest rooms designed for visitors. Audio-visual tools may also be used to promote awareness and interest in yoga and meditation," he said.
Singh said that Nishadraj Park is a significant part of the Ramayana Circuit and will serve as a major attraction for tourists interested in religion, yoga, art, cuisine and rural culture. He said that Shringverpur has also been developed as a tourist village to promote rural tourism.
He said that the park commemorates the historic moment when Nishadraj helped Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman cross the Ganga river and hosted them for a night at Shringverpur.
"Under Phase One of the park's development, a grand 56-feet high statue of Lord Ram and Nishadraj has been installed as a symbol of social harmony. The park also features an art gallery, food court and kiosks, open-air amphitheater, children’s play area, public amenities, landscaping, gazebos and a security centre," he said.
The Minister said that the initiative will not only promote religious tourism but also boost local employment, cultural awareness and the rural economy.
