UP: More than 50 taken ill after consuming stale food in Mahoba

Mahoba (UP), Apr 28 (UNI) More than 50 people were taken ill after consuming stale food at a wedding ceremony in the Mahobakanth area of Mahoba district here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, a police officer said here.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Harshita Gangwar said that there was a marriage function in the Sataura village in Sandeep's family.
"Apart from his relatives, people from the village were also invited. It is being said that after the ceremony, the invitees suddenly started complaining of vomiting and diarrhoea," she said.
She said that the villagers were informed about the matter through the police dialling 112. "A team of the Health Department, along with doctors led by administrative officials, reached the spot and started treating the victims," she said.
The DSP said that more than 50 people, including small children and women, have fallen ill in the incident. "They are being treated properly by a team of doctors. A team of doctors has also been called from Mahoba headquarters," she said.
Kulpahad's Sub Divisional Magistrate Anurag Prasad is present at the spot and is constantly monitoring the situation. The doctors have said that the condition of all the victims is out of danger.
