Station Ghanpur (Telangana), Mar 16 (UNI Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said that Warangal received an Airport and a ring road soon after the Congress government came to power.
Speaking at the public meeting titled "Praja Palana - Pragathi Bata Programme" in Shivunipalli on the outskirts of Station Ghanpur on Sunday, the Chief Minister stated that he is deeply fond of united Warangal.
He recalled that the region had witnessed numerous struggles against tyranny and highlighted his promise during the Lok Sabha elections to bring an Airport to Warangal. "I have fulfilled that promise and stand before you today having delivered it," he said.
Revanth Reddy accused the previous KCR-led government of leaving the state burdened with Rs 8.29 lakh crore in debt. He revealed that in just one year, the Congress government paid Rs 84,000 crore in interest and Rs 64,000 crore towards loan principal repayments. Despite these financial challenges, he asserted that his government is committed to fulfilling promises.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the Congress government swiftly implemented free RTC bus travel for women within two days of coming to power, allocating Rs 5,500 crore for the scheme.
He also criticised the previous government for stalling the Rythu Bandhu scheme, adding that the Congress government allocated Rs 7,200 crore for it after taking charge.
He further assured that Group 1, 2, and 3 recruitment exams are being conducted properly to ensure job opportunities for youth.
Revanth Reddy praised the induction of Kadiyam Srihari into the Congress party, stating that Telangana needs leaders like him. He criticised KCR for neglecting his duties as an MLA for 15 months while continuing to draw salary and allowances. "Why does someone who takes public money fail to contribute to the Assembly?" he questioned.
