Gorakhpur, Mar 14 (UNI) Gorakh Peethadheeshwar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday began the Holi celebrations by performing the traditional worship of Holika Bhasma at Gorakhnath Temple.
Amidst Vedic chanting, the CM offered prayers near the sacred ashes of Holika Dahan in the temple's fairground and performed Aarti. Following the ritual, saints and devotees received his blessings as he applied tilak with the consecrated ash and exchanged Holi greetings.
After the Holika Bhasma Poojan, Yogi proceeded to the temple of Guru Gorakhnath Ji, where he offered Holika ash to Shrinath Ji. The atmosphere resonated with the melodies of Faag songs and Yogi enjoyed the vibrant musical celebrations, extending Holi wishes to all present.
As part of his Holi rituals, he visited the Gaushala within the temple premises, applying ash and abir-gulal to the cows as a mark of reverence. the CM fed them jaggery and lovingly caressed their foreheads and necks, engaging in Gauseva with deep devotion.
During his morning routine, Yogi was also stopped by Bhim Sarovar, where he fed grains to ducks near the lake. Later, while visiting the cowshed, he extended his care to a peacock wandering nearby, offering it grains as well.
The celebrations at Gorakhnath Temple reflected a blend of devotion, tradition and compassion, embodying the spirit of Holi in its truest form.
