Yogi condemns terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam

Lucknow, Apr 22 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir and termed it a cowardly and unforgivable act.

Taking to X, the CM wrote, "The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu-Kashmir, is cowardly, unforgivable, and utterly condemnable. My heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this tragic incident!"

He said, "I pray to Lord Shri Ram that the departed noble souls attain salvation and the injured recover swiftly."

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has termed the attack extremely tragic, condemnable and concerning and demanded the government take strict action.

She wrote, "The terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, a tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the death and injury of many people, is extremely tragic, condemnable and concerning. My deep condolences to the affected families. The government should take this incident with utmost seriousness and take strict action."

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav said that the horrific images of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu-Kashmir are heart-wrenching. "This attack is condemnable from every perspective," he said.

He said that for the immediate treatment of the injured, the country's best medical services and facilities should be ensured at once. "Heartfelt wishes for everyone’s recovery and life," he said.

Akhilesh said that the central government needs to prioritise ensuring a secure environment; only then can the lives of local residents and tourists remain safe.
