Youth stabbed to death in Mannarkkad

Palakkad, May 14 (UNI) A 42-year-old youth was stabbed to death by a person following a verbal dispute related to the queue at the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (Bevco) outlet, at Mannarkkad in Palakkad district on Wednesday.
According to police, the deceased was identified as K V Irshad (42), who returned from abroad recently and a resident of Ambazhakode in Kottopadam village, near Mannarkkad in the district.
The incident took place around 5 pm at Bevco compound. Irshad and others were standing in a queue of the beverage outlet to purchase liquors, when two persons came on a motorbike. Soon, there was a verbal dispute between Irshad and the other two.
Later, one of them stabbed Irshad with a beer bottle and fled from the spot. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured Irshad to the nearby Mannarkkad taluk hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have launched an investigation to nab the accused. They ha also received the CCTV footage of the incident. UNI AK SSP
