Himachal: CM defends state probe in Negi death case, Oppn demands CBI inquiry

Shimla, Mar 24 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu asserted that the family of deceased Chief Engineer Vimal Negi has expressed trust in the state police’s investigation, rejecting the Opposition’s demand for a CBI probe.
Intervening during the discussion on the cut motion in the assembly, CM Sukhu countered Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur’s allegations, stating that the family had given the government 15 days to investigate Negi’s mysterious death.
He accused the BJP of politicising the issue, saying, 'You (Thakur) and BJP president Rajiv Bindal visited the spot, but the family did not agree to a CBI probe. They have faith in the state’s investigation.”
