'It is important to make special films for children too': Rasika Dugal

Mumbai, Oct 23 (UNI) Actress Rasika Dugal has stressed the need for more films that cater specifically to children, saying cinema should offer stories that entertain young audiences while encouraging them to ask questions and understand the world around them.
Before the release of "Little Thomas", Dugal said that such stories should be made for children, which, along with entertaining them, promote their curiosity and provide them an opportunity to understand the world around them.
Directed by Kaushal Ojha, "Little Thomas" revolves around a curious child who wants to know where babies come from. He also longs for a brother or sister. The 41-year-old actress plays Jessie Miranda in the film.
Speaking about the importance of children's cinema, the "Mirzapur" actress said, "Cinema is a wonderful medium that expands our world and gives new wings to our imaginations. Many of the ideas and thoughts we have as adults originate in the films we saw as children. Therefore, we need films that children can relate to and that understand and foster their curiosity, rather than ignoring it."
She added that children's films can be entertaining and convey important messages without being preachy. She wants more filmmakers to create stories that children can enjoy and that open new avenues for their imaginations. UNI NST SS
