"Party more important than individual, country more than the party" : UP CM Yogi

Meerut, Sep 21 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has lamented that nepotism and casteism have plagued the country's politics.
Addressing the Shakti Kendra coordinators conference on Monday, he targetted the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, and Congress saying that for these parties, power had become a means of exploitation and nepotism. He said that such a mindset has led to the perception in politics that coming to power means pursuing one's own interests.
The Chief Minister said that the BJP has changed the direction of politics. He said that the BJP's philosophy of service has changed the way questions should be framed. "The question should not be what I will get, but what I am doing for my country," he observed.
He said: "Party is more important than the individual, and the country is more important than the party." The BJP believes that everything an individual does should be for the country.
CM Yogi said that when the "what's for me" sentiment dominates politics, it creates an identity crisis and hinders development. He said that such thinking creates suffocating conditions for society and the country.
CM Yogi said that the work of the Shakti Kendra is true to its name. In the BJP system, the Shakti Kendra convenor holds full organizational and election power. He welcomed and congratulated the Shakti Kendra convenors present at the conference.
BJP National President Nitin Nabin and state BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary were present.
During Nitin Nabin's two-day visit on Monday and Tuesday, CM would interact with party leaders, office bearers, Shakti Kendras, and grassroots workers in Meerut and Saharanpur. In Meerut, separate organizational meetings are being held to review preparations at the booth, Shakti Kendra, division, and district levels ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
