52 vehicles seized over mining violations; Charkhi Dadri orders tougher checks

Charkhi Dadri, Oct 23 (UNI) Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr Virendra Singh on Friday ordered tighter checks on illegal mining and mineral transportation after a district review meeting was informed that authorities had seized 52 vehicles and imposed penalties totalling Rs 32.29 lakh this year.
FIRs have also been registered in cases involving seven vehicles, Mining Department official Anil Kumar told the District Mining Committee meeting at the Mini Secretariat.
Chairing the review, Singh directed officials to seize vehicles found involved in illegal mining activities, issue challans and initiate appropriate action against their owners. He also ordered thorough scrutiny of e-Rawana permits used for mineral transportation.
Police were instructed to intensify inspections at sensitive checkpoints and conduct regular patrols in their respective areas. Singh asked departments to maintain continuous vigilance against illegal mining activities and ensure that checking remained a regular exercise.
Kumar informed the committee that the district had received Rs 95,72,30,571—approximately Rs 95.72 crore—in revenue from the mining sector since August 2026. The revenue figure covers the period from August to the review, while the vehicle seizures and penalties relate to the year so far.
Seven mining zones and 270 stone crushers are currently operational in the district, he said.
Singh said preventing illegal mining was the administration’s principal objective and directed officials to act whenever violations were detected. He instructed officers and field staff to discharge their duties diligently and avoid lapses in enforcement.
