6 killed as vehicles collide in Andhra's Prakasam

Ongole, May 23 (UNI) Six people were killed and two were injured when a car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Tadicharlamotu village of Komarolu mandal in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday.
The police said eight members of a family went to Mahanandi temple located in Nandyal district. When they were going back to their native village Stuvartpuram in Bapatla district, their car collided with a lorry killing six people. Two children were injured in the incident.
The deceased were identified as Gajjala Anakalu (50), Gajjala Narasimha (20), Batcha Sandeep (30), Gajjala Bhavani (20), Gajjala Babulu (29) and Karredula Divakar (30). The injured five-years-old Gajjala Siri and three-years-old Gajjala Siddardha were admitted to the GGH in Giddalur.
The police took a couple of hours to extricate the bodies from the car. The police have registered a case and shifted the bodies to the GGH in Giddalur for postmortem.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the accident. Naidu inquired with the officials about the accident and conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families. He also assured the families of extending all support.

Minister for Transport M Ramprasad Reddy also expressed grief over the accident. The Ministers spoke to the transport officials of Prakasam district and extended help to the bereaved and injured families.
