A Golden era dawns for Odisha's Youth with expanding opportunities: CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar, June 23 (UNI) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday said a golden era is approaching for the youth of Odisha, with vast opportunities being created across all sectors.
Addressing the state-level Yuva Shakti Convention at Aska in Ganjam district, Majhi said Odisha Yuva Shakti will play a key role in achieving the state's ambitious goals of becoming a $500 billion economy by 2036 and a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047.
Highlighting the state’s industrial development, the Chief Minister informed that 13 lakh employment opportunities have been created through investments worth Rs.17 lakh crore during the Utkarsh Odisha conclave.
He added that the government has prepared a detailed roadmap for the youth, noting that the state's productive age group (15–35 years) consists of 1.7 crore individuals.
“To improve foundational education, we have launched the Godavarish Mishra Adarsh Prathama Vidyalaya Yojana, along with the Skilled Odisha Programme,” Majhi stated.
He also mentioned that 11.25 percent reservation has been ensured in higher education for students from socially and educationally backward classes. Furthermore, training in industrial relations and practical education has been introduced in 58 colleges to enhance employability.
Urging young people to utilize the various sports facilities developed by the government, the Chief Minister encouraged them to consider sports as a viable career option.
On the occasion, Majhi laid the foundation stone for developmental projects worth Rs.550 crore in the district. These include five irrigation projects, a road widening project, a high-level bridge project, and several other infrastructure initiatives.
He also directed the preparation of a revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of the Maa Tara Tarini Temple and announced that land would be allocated for establishing a world-class Industrial Training Institute in Polsara.
