ACB detects assets worth Rs 9.41 cr in disproportionate assets case against Civil Supplies official

Hyderabad, Oct 9 (UNI) The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against V Narasimha Rao, Assistant Manager (Technical) in the Civil Supplies Department, currently working as District Manager (RDO) in Mahabubabad, following allegations that he amassed assets through corrupt practices and dubious means.
According to an ACB press release issued on Friday, preliminary searches were conducted at seven locations linked to the official, his relatives and associates on October 9, following the issuance of proceedings authorising registration of a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The searches revealed immovable assets, including five open plots in Khammam district, agricultural lands in Khammam and Suryapet districts, and three residential buildings in Khammam and Nagar. The properties stand in the names of the official, his wife and father-in-law.
The movable assets identified include a Hyundai Creta car, two two-wheelers, household articles, gold and silver ornaments, and cash of Rs 15,600 seized from his residence.
The total document value of the assets identified so far is approximately Rs 9.41 crore. The ACB said the market value of the immovable properties was expected to be considerably higher than their registered value.
The agency is verifying the ownership, source of funds and nature of transactions relating to the assets. A rice mill is also suspected to have been acquired in a benami name, and its ownership and investment sources are being investigated.
The investigation is continuing, the ACB said.
