Adivi Sesh gifts mechanical elephant to ISKCON temple in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, Oct 27 (UNI) Actor Adivi Sesh has presented a life-sized mechanical elephant named Ranga to the Sri Sri Radha Damodar Temple at ISKCON Visakhapatnam, joining hands with PETA India to encourage the use of animal-friendly alternatives during religious ceremonies.
The initiative aims to encourage animal-friendly alternatives to the use of live elephants in religious rituals and festivals.
Sesh said that religious traditions and rituals should reflect not only devotion but also love and sensitivity towards all living beings. He said that elephants should live freely in the wild with their families. It is sad to see them chained, trained, and used for display in religious processions.
The 40-year-old actor expressed hope that this initiative will inspire temples and communities across the country to adopt choices filled with kindness and compassion while respecting their traditions.
This initiative offers the mechanical elephant Ranga as an alternative to the use of live elephants. It allows temples and religious ceremonies to maintain the grandeur and religious significance of the tradition while avoiding the problems of keeping animals captive, chained, and performing. "I hope our initiative will inspire many communities and temples across India to adopt choices filled with kindness and compassion while respecting their traditions."
He extended his best wishes to the devotees of ISKCON Visakhapatnam and hoped that Ranga brings happiness, joy and devotion in their lives in the years to come. UNI NST SS
