Adobe unveils plans to power India's creator economy at WAVES summit

Mumbai, May 1 (UNI) Global software major Adobe on Thursday announced a series of strategic initiatives aligned with the Indian government's 'Create in India, Create for the World' vision, aimed at empowering the country’s fast-growing creator economy.

The announcements were made at the inaugural World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), where Adobe unveiled new partnerships with the WAVES Bazaar, Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Interactive, and Accenture, focused on advancing digital creativity, skilling, and access to its industry-leading tools across India.

"India is a global powerhouse of innovation and creativity," said Abhigyan Modi, Adobe’s Country Manager and Senior Vice President for Document Cloud. "We are excited to accelerate our support of India's creator economy through world-leading technology and localised initiatives that enable Creativity for All."

Highlighting India's role at the forefront of technological transformation, Modi said the country is well-positioned in the AI-driven creative evolution due to its leadership in mobile, digital payments, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.

Adobe also announced the expansion of Adobe Express, its quick content creation app, which now supports eight Indian languages and will soon feature over one million new localised templates, along with affordable pricing plans for Indian users.

As part of its partnership with TCS, Adobe will launch the AI-powered Creative Experience Studio (ACES) to deliver personalised, culturally relevant content for businesses and public sector enterprises. Collaborations with IICT and Accenture aim to equip students and educators with creative tools, training, mentorship and internships, while promoting innovation in schools under the PM SHRI initiative.

In collaboration with the government-backed WAVES Bazaar, Adobe will provide discounted Creative Cloud subscriptions to creators and offer access to its tools to winners of the Creatosphere challenge.

Adobe also highlighted its ongoing work with India’s Ministry of Education to provide free access to Adobe Express for Education in schools and train teachers under the Adobe Creative Educator Program in line with the National Education Policy.

On the technology front, Adobe announced integration of new Agentic AI features into its Creative Cloud, Acrobat, and Adobe Express platforms, along with the introduction of Firefly Image Model 4 and Firefly Video Model — advanced AI tools for generating high-quality visual content. Additionally, the new Content Authenticity app, now in public beta, will help creators safeguard their digital work using Content Credentials.

With over 8,500 employees across five campuses in India — its largest workforce outside the United States — Adobe is planning to open a new campus in Noida, Uttar Pradesh by early 2026, reinforcing its commitment to the Indian market.
