AISF demands revocation of Malla Reddy University’s recognition

Hyderabad, Oct 26 (UNI) All India Students’ Federation (AISF) State President Kasireddy Manikanta Reddy and Secretary Putta Lakshman on Monday demanded the revocation of Malla Reddy University’s recognition, alleging that film-related events are disrupting academic activities at the institution in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
In a statement, the AISF leaders alleged that the university management was giving priority to film promotions over students’ education and organising events that continued until late at night. They questioned the declaration of a holiday following a film trailer launch on October 23 and the alleged instruction to students to watch the movie upon its release on October 30.
The leaders questioned whether parents were paying high tuition fees to enable students to attend film-related events rather than pursue their studies. They urged the Higher Education Department and University Grants Commission (UGC) to clarify the matter and take action against the university management.
They also appealed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who holds the Education portfolio, to intervene and put an end to activities that allegedly affect students’ academic schedules. The AISF leaders called for strict action against Malla Reddy University and other institutions under its management, alleging repeated disruptions to education.
