Akashvani Chennai celebrates 87th anniv

Chennai, June 16 (UNI) Akashvani Chennai, the national public broadcaster, proudly celebrated its 87th anniversary on Monday with a function held at the Chennai station premises.
Veteran announcers and retired officials of the Akashvani (erstwhile All India Radio) graced the occasion, sharing memories and reconnecting with former colleagues.
To commemorate the milestone, Ms M. Vasuki, Head of Office, and Mr Ramesh Babu, Head of Programmes, along with other staff members, ceremoniously cut a special anniversary cake.
A series of special programmes were broadcast throughout the day, reflecting the station’s rich
legacy and continued commitment to quality public service broadcasting, a PIB release said.
