All arrangements for PM’s programme almost complete: Minister

Vijayawada, Apr 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana has said that arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme, to be held on May 2, are almost complete.

The Prime Minister will re-launch the development works of AP capital city and address a public meeting in the capital region Amaravati on May 2. Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, accompanied by officials, inspected the arrangements for the Prime Minister’s programme at the capital region on Tuesday.

Narayana inspected the dais, VVIP enclosure, parking slots and the routes leading to the venue. The Minister said that 90 per cent of arrangements for the Prime Minister’s programme have been completed.

He said the Prime Minister would arrive at the venue at around 2:30 pm on May 2, felicitate some farmers who had parted with their lands for the construction of capital city Amaravati and address the public meeting.

“Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu intended to construct a capital city for Andhra Pradesh with the cooperation of Singapore which has given the Master Plan for the AP capital city,” he revealed.

The new capital city of AP would consist of 365 km of trunk roads and 1500 km of layout roads, the Municipal Administration Minister said. The Naidu-headed government during 2014-19 had launched Rs 41,000 crore worth development works in the capital city region and had also paid Rs 5,000 crore worth bills for works carried out by the contractors, he stated.

“The Prime Minister will inaugurate various development works worth Rs 43,000 crore in the capital city Amaravati region on May 2,” Narayana said.

The Minister vowed to complete all development works in the capital region in three years. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu personally invited the farmers who had given their lands for the construction of the capital city to attend the Prime Minister’s programme on May 2, he added.

Meanwhile, Andhra chief secretary Vijayanand reviewed the arrangements being made for the Prime Minister’s programme.
