Prayagraj, May 31 (UNI) Chief Justice of India Justice (CJI) Bhushan Ramakrishna Gavai on Saturday said that the Allahabad High Court has become a model for all the High Courts of the country.
After inaugurating the multi-level parking and air-conditioned chambers for advocates built for Rs 680 crore in the Allahabad High Court premises, CJI Justice Gavai said that the name of Allahabad High Court is written in golden letters in the judicial field.
"The land of Prayagraj is full of eminent personalities. Among the advocates are Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru. The names of Hindi literature Mahadevi, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Pant, Nirala, Akbar Allahabadi are prominent. Chandrashekhar Azad's name is prominent in the freedom struggle. He sacrificed his life for the country," he said.
He praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi and called him the most powerful CM of the country. He praised the air-conditioned chambers and multi-level parking built for advocates for Rs 680 crore. He said that his work has been commendable.
Justice Gavai said that the Constitution of our country is moving towards strength in 75 years. "India is moving towards progress. There is no need to tell what the situation is with India's neighbouring countries. Such a big building and so many facilities for advocates are not available anywhere in the world, let alone other countries. We are also taking care of the litigants. Arrangements are being made for the litigants. The citizens of the country come for justice. His complete care is taken in the High Court," he said.
He said that this parking lot has been made by demolishing 12 bungalows of the judges. "Leaving the bungalow is not a trivial matter. He also expressed gratitude to the judges here for this," he said.
The CJI said that the speech given by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar once was an address that gave direction to the country. "Today we are moving towards one person, one vote and one value. Baba Saheb warned that till we are able to remove the economic inequality in the country, we will not be able to establish democracy in the country," he said.
He said that in the rule of law, apart from the bar and the bench, the litigant also plays a big role. "His facilities should also have been taken care of. The client who comes to the High Court to plead his case will not have to sit under a tree. The pace of justice should increase. It is expected that everyone will work in accordance with the Constitution made by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar," he said.
Justice Gavai said that before 1973, when there was a conflict between fundamental rights and fundamental duties, priority was given to the fundamental rights. "But in 1974, the Keshav Nath Bharti case came in which the principle of basic structure was given. It has been 50 years following this principle. We cannot move forward without taking the bar and the bench along. This construction work is ideal for all High Courts. Inspiration can be taken from this," he said.
On this occasion, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, along with Supreme Court Justices Suryakant, Justice JK Maheshwari, Justice BV Nagarathna, Justice Vikram Nath, Justice Manoj Mishra and Justice Pankaj Mittal, Allahabad High Court Chief Justice Arun Bhasali, along with all the judges, court officials, bar officials, ministers, MPs, MLAs and a large number of advocates were present.
