Alld HC orders action against lawyers disrupting judicial proceedings

Prayagraj, Oct 28 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court took strong cognizance of lawyers who shouted slogans and disrupted judicial proceedings in the court premises on Wednesday.
The court ordered contempt and disciplinary action after identifying them through CCTV footage.

This order was issued by a single bench of Justice Arun Kumar Singh Deswal while hearing the bail plea of petitioner Devendra Kumar.
The court, considering this entire act to be completely contemptuous, directed the Registrar (Protocol) to immediately examine the footage from CCTV cameras installed outside the courtroom and identify the lawyers involved in the disturbance and submit a report.
The court clarified that once the lawyers are identified, the case will be referred to the Uttar Pradesh Bar Council for disciplinary action against them.
Besides contempt proceedings may also be initiated against them.
It is noteworthy that on Tuesday, Court No. 49 became heated after a lawyer was threatened with imprisonment by the court and apologized to the Superintendent of Police.
The Allahabad High Court Bar Association also sent a letter to the Chief Justice calling for a boycott of Court No. 49.
On Wednesday, lawyers in this case created a ruckus and raised slogans in the court premises.
