Mumbai, Nov 6 (UNI) Angel One Limited has climbed to the second position among stockbroking firms in India in terms of active clients registered with the National Stock Exchange (NSE), with a market share of 14.97 per cent, according to the exchange's latest Report 1C.
The brokerage had 69.98 lakh active clients on the NSE as of October 2026, accounting for a significant share of the exchange's total active investor base of 4.67 crore. It recorded a net addition of 2.43 lakh active clients during the month, reflecting continued growth in retail investor participation.
The company's business indicators for October also showed an upward trend, with its overall customer base expanding 17.4 per cent year-on-year to 4.06 crore. Gross client additions stood at 6.6 lakh, the highest in nine months.
Trading activity gained momentum during the month, as average daily orders increased 19.6 per cent over September to 69.7 lakh, indicating higher engagement on the company's digital trading platforms.
The expansion in its customer base was accompanied by a strong financial performance in the second quarter of the financial year 2026-27.
Angel One reported an 18.7 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue from operations to Rs 1,427 crore for the July-September quarter. Its net profit surged 58.2 per cent to Rs 335 crore, while Earnings Before Depreciation, Amortisation and Tax (EBDAT) rose 52 per cent to Rs 493 crore.
The EBDAT margin improved to 45.1 per cent during the quarter, compared with 34.5 per cent in the corresponding period last year. Interest income from its client funding business contributed 35.6 per cent to the overall revenue, reflecting a broader revenue mix.
The company added approximately 15 lakh clients during the second quarter, registering an 11.6 per cent increase over the preceding quarter. Its customer base reached 3.99 crore by the end of September and crossed the four-crore mark in October.
Angel One's wealth management vertical also witnessed substantial expansion, with assets under management (AUM) rising to Rs 16,000 crore, registering growth of 19.1 per cent sequentially and 160.5 per cent year-on-year.
The company attributed its expanding market presence to technology-driven services, wider investor access and increasing participation in the country's capital markets.
The latest NSE ranking marks a significant development in Angel One's growth, as it strengthens its position in the brokerage industry amid rising competition and growing adoption of digital investment platforms.
