Anti-encroachment drive continues in UP along Nepal border

Lucknow, Apr 29 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government continued its anti-encroachment drive along Nepal border for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday, as many illegal religious places and encroachments were demolished, official sources said here.
Sources said that at the same time, unrecognised madrasas were also sealed by the enforcement agencies.
"Overall, hundreds of illegal encroachments have been removed so far. The campaign not only seeks to strengthen law and order but is also being considered as a part of the government's strategy to stop any possible activity from across the border," they said.
Sources said that the Yogi government continued its action in Bahraich on the fourth consecutive day.
"A total of 117 illegal encroachments have been removed so far in Nanpara and Mihipurwa. On Tuesday, a madrasa 'Darul Uloom Azizia Hadiqatul Noman' was sealed in Motipur area. Earlier on Monday, similar action was taken on four more madrasas," they said.
Sources said that in the investigation of the District Minority Welfare Department in Balrampur district, 20 madrasas were found to be substandard.
"Some did not have records of recognition, while some were not even following the prescribed curriculum. All of them have been closed. Not only this, notices have also been issued to two other madrasas and action will be taken against them too if the records are not found," they said.
Sources said that in Siddharth Nagar district, three mosques and 14 madrasas have been found to be built illegally.
"The administration has issued a notice on Monday (April 28) and started preparing for legal action," they said.
Similarly, a total of 29 illegal encroachments have been identified in Nautanwa, Farenda and Nichlaul of Maharajganj. At the same time, 33 madrasas have been sealed, and a mosque has been removed in Shravasti. Illegal construction was demolished in village Bharatharaushangarh.
