AP BJP leader backs Vijay Deverakonda’s remarks on Aurangzeb

Tirupati, Nov 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh BJP spokesperson G Bhanu Prakash Reddy on Friday expressed support for Telugu film actor Vijay Deverakonda's recent remarks about Mughal ruler Aurangzeb and made controversial comments while criticising the historical ruler.
In a video statement, Bhanu Prakash Reddy said he fully endorsed Vijay Deverakonda's remarks that he would like to go back in time and strike Aurangzeb. Going a step further, the BJP spokesperson said he would "skin him alive", citing what he described as atrocities committed against Hindus, destruction of temples and attacks on Hindu religious traditions.
He alleged that Aurangzeb had destroyed several prominent Hindu temples, including Kashi Vishwanath, the Krishna temple in Mathura and Somnath, and said the younger generation should come forward to protect Sanatana Dharma.
Reacting to criticism of Vijay Deverakonda's comments, Bhanu Prakash Reddy issued a warning to those opposing the actor, saying he was prepared to confront anyone who challenged those standing up for the Hindu faith. He called upon Hindu organisations and people to extend their support to the actor.
Referring to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sambhaji Maharaj, he said the country needed more people inspired by their efforts to protect Hindu traditions.
It may be recalled that during a programme, Vijay Deverakonda, while responding to an anchor’s question about what he would do if he could travel back in time, said he would like to confront the British rulers and Aurangzeb. His remarks have since triggered reactions from various quarters.
