Seethakka slams BRS over Kaleshwaram project, says safety recommendations being followed

Mulugu (Telangana), Nov 6 (UNI) Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka on Friday alleged that corruption and irregularities during the construction of the Kaleshwaram project were responsible for the damage to the barrage and urged BRS leaders to stop politicising the issue and explain the facts to the public.
Participating in the 'Palle Palleku Seethakka' outreach programme in several villages of Mulugu constituency after offering prayers at Ramappa Temple, she interacted with residents, explained government welfare schemes and directed officials to address public grievances.
She said water storage at Kaleshwaram was being regulated in accordance with the recommendations of dam safety authorities, in view of potential flood risks in certain areas. The government was making efforts to utilise every drop of Godavari water through projects such as Devadula, Tupakulagudem and Sitarama to meet drinking and irrigation needs, she added.
Seethakka said the government was committed to supporting farmers and the poor despite the rainfall deficit and was taking steps to ensure remunerative prices for farmers and quality food for people.
