AP: Dy CM Pawan Kalyan announces Rs 50 L ex gratia to martyrs’ family

Anantapur, May 11 (UNI) The last rites of Agniveer S Murali Naik, who was killed during an encounter with infiltrators in Jammu and Kashmir, was held at Kallathanka village in Sri Satya Sai district on Sunday. Andhra Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan, who attended the last rites, announced Rs 50 lakh ex gratia to the bereaved family on behalf of the state government.
Earlier, the mortal remains of Agniveer Jawan Murali Naik, who was killed in an encounter with five infiltrators in J&K on Thursday, was brought to the village here today.
Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan, Home Minister V Anitha, IT Minister N Lokesh, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad and BC Welfare minister S Savitha attended the funeral of the martyr. They paid homage and consoled the bereaved family members.
Slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki jai' and 'Jai Hind' resonated in the area during the funeral procession. Ministers Lokesh and Satya Prasad Yadav carried the coffin of the martyr Murali Naik.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan announced Rs 50 lakh ex gratia to the bereaved family on behalf of the AP government.
He also announced that five acres of agricultural land and 300 yards of house site would also be given to the martyr’s family. A government job would also be given to the father of the martyr, he said. The government would construct a monument of Agniveer Jawan Murali Naik at the village, the Deputy Chief Minister announced.
Pawan Kalyan also announced that on the request of the villagers, Kalli Thanka village would be named after Murli Naik Thanda. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced that he would extend Rs 25 lakh financial assistance to the bereaved family personally.
IT Minister Lokesh expressed grief stating that Murali Naik sacrificed his life for the country at the border at a young age. MP BK Parthasarathi, MLA P Sindhura Reddy MS Raju, JC Prabhakar Reddy were among a slew of leaders who attended the funeral.
