AP: Govt. committed to development, welfare, good governance: Naidu

Vijayawada, Oct 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu Sunday reiterated that the government is committed to implementing welfare schemes, developing the state and providing good governance.
The Chief Minister here virtually launched the handing over of title deeds of house sites to the poor. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and he assured the people before elections to reconstruct the State and they fulfilled the promises within 28 months, adding that as part of good governance, title deeds are being issued to the poor of their houses, he said.
The Chief Minister promised to hand over 4000 house pattas to the eligible poor for their houses by Sankranthi festival in 2027.
“We have so far handed over title deeds of houses to over 60,000 families, worth rs 52,000 crore in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Mangalagiri. The government is providing drinking water taps to every household and Rs 1.80 lakh crore is being spent to provide basic amenities and infrastructure in towns and villages,” Mr. Naidu revealed.

He observed that the government would not compromise in implementing welfare schemes, adding that thousands of crores of rupees are being spent to disburse social security pensions every month.
“The government is implementing free bus travel to women and so far over 100 crore travels have been registered. We have not hiked the power tariff so far. Endeavors are being made to implement solar rooftop schemes by encouraging people,” he announced.

Mr. Naidu expressed confidence that the TDP, BJP and JSP alliance would register overwhelming victories in the ensuing local body elections. He mentioned that the mayors and ZP chairpersons would be elected directly by the voters. The Chief Minister reminisced that the government revoked the controversial Land Title Act, which was introduced by the erstwhile YSRCP and instructed the district Collectors to resolve land issues.
