AP: NCC conducts mock drill for war preparedness in Vizag

Visakhapatnam, May 7 (UNI) A 'Mock Drill' for war preparation is being conducted throughout the country on Wednesday and Visakhapatnam district has been categorised as Cat - II target by the Central Government.
National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a readily available, trained and disciplined force and is preparing its cadets to be available as volunteers for the casualty management to help out the civil administration, in case of any contingency.
2 (A) CTR NCC, under the aegis of NCC Group HQs, Visakhapatnam, conducted the Mock Drill for the NCC cadets of 2(A) CTR NCC at the Andhra University Campus, a defence relesse said here.
Col Tapas Mandal, Commanding Officer of 2 (A) CTR NCC, addressed the cadets and the media present regarding the preparations to be done by civilians as well as by the NCC cadets as volunteers for any eventuality including war.
The unit organised a lecture cum demonstration by a team from 10 NDRF, Vijayawada who also gave practice to our NCC cadets in various aspects of casualty management including first aid, CPR, casualty evacuation and fire fighting.
The event was attended by the Vice Chancellor, Registrar and other faculty members of Andhra University and was well received by the large media present.
