Telangana: ACB nabs TGSPDCL AE red-handed while accepting Rs 10k bribe

Hyderabad, May 7 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday caught an Assistant Executive Engineer (AE) of the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL), Pragathinagar, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

According to an official statement, the accused officer, A Gnaneshwar, was caught by the ACB’s Ranga Reddy Unit at around 1445 hours while receiving the bribe amount from a complainant. Gnaneshwar had allegedly demanded a total bribe of Rs 50,000 to issue a work completion order for a 63 kV transformer and for the installation of nine (3-phase) meters at the complainant’s plot.

The ACB stated that the accused officer acted dishonestly and performed his public duty improperly by demanding and accepting the bribe. The bribe amount was recovered from him at the scene, at his instance.

Gnaneshwar was being arrested and produced before the 1st Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally, Hyderabad.
