AP: Operational skills of govt. employees crucial for effective governance: CBC Chairperson

Vijayawada, Sep 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated ‘Sadhana Shrinkhala', the first regional workshop under the ‘Mission Karmayogi’ program at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Convention Centre here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Capacity Building Commission Chairperson S Radha Chauhan said that the objective of Mission Karmayogi is not merely to provide training to government employees, but to transform every employee moving beyond the level of an ordinary worker into a true 'Karmayogi' who participates in nation-building, driven by a spirit of service and the ethos of 'Nagarik Devo Bhava' (treating the citizen as divine).
“The ‘Unnati’ platform—which brings together over 900 training institutions from across the country onto a single platform—operates in integration with iGOT and HR management systems,” she highlighted.
“In the current era of rapidly evolving technology—particularly the expansion of Artificial Intelligence (AI)—behavioral changes, operational skills, and continuous learning among government employees are crucial for effective governance,” she observed.
She mentioned that the ‘Unnati’ platform which brings together over 900 training institutes nationwide operates in integration with iGOT and HR management systems to achieve this goal. She noted that this would enable more effective coordination among training institutes, government departments, and employees, stating the need to expand institutional training—which currently reaches only 8 to 10 percent of officers and employees was highlighted.
Principal Secretary of the Finance Department Piyush Kumar said: “Approximately 8 lakh employees and staff members have been boarded onto the iGOT platform, with over 2 crore course enrollments achieved. The training content has been made available in the Telugu language to benefit Anganwadi workers and frontline staff operating at the grassroots level.”
The employee performance and training outcomes are being continuously monitored by integrating Real-Time Governance (RTGS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, Piyush Kumar revealed. Capacity Building Commission member Alka Mittal also spoke.
