AP: Ration shop dealers told to distribute ration without impediments

The Civil Supplies Minister said that as per the government's decision to resume the distribution of commodities through ration shops and distribute essential commodities to cardholders, arrangements were made for dealers to distribute essential commodities through ration shops from June 1.

Ration dealers should uphold the government's trust and distribute goods to cardholders without any hassle, he told them. In view of the distribution of essential commodities through ration shops from June 1, Minister Nadendla Manohar inspected the trial run conducted in 218 ration shops in Mathuranagar here on Thursday to check the field level preparedness.

Later, the Minister, along with Civil Supplies Commissioner Saurabh Gaur, inspected the e-pass and weighing machine service camp for low-price shops organized by the Civil Supplies Department in the premises of the Vijayawada Sub-Collector office.

Speaking to the ration dealers of Vijayawada Division on this occasion, the Minister said that the government would take up the distribution of commodities through ration shops to ensure that there is no scope for any irregularities in the public distribution system and commodities would be distributed at home to the disabled and elderly people above 65 years of age.

Minister Manohar directed the ration shop dealers to deliver the ration commodities even on Sundays from the 1st to the 15th of every month. He also told them to take the initiative to distribute ration commodities to the disabled and elderly people above 65 years of age at their homes by the 5th.

He stated that by providing information regularly through the WhatsApp group, the cardholders can do so without any hassle.

The surroundings of ration shops should be kept clean and commodities distributed with correct measurements, prices and stock boards should be displayed at the shops properly.
He told them that service camps are being set up for the repairs of e-POS and weighing machines. RDO Kavuri Chaitanya and DSO A Papa Rao were among those who accompanied the Minister. UNI DP SSP
