AP to hold awareness programmes on Yoga for one month

Rajahmundry, May 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Government will organize awareness programmes in a big way from May 21 to June 21 on Yoga.



Minister for Tourism Kandula Durgesh inaugurated a massive Yoga event at Gowthami ghat here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the AP Government is organising the International Yoga Day grandly in Visakhapatnam on June 21 in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi would participate.



He said that awareness programmes in various forms would be organized across the State on Yoga from village level to the district level with the theme of ‘Yogendra 2025’.

He said over five lakh people would practice Yoga on June 21 international Yoga day programme over two crore people would also practice yoga across the state on the day.



The Tourism Minister revealed that prominent personalities including film stars would participate in the programmes. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan and Minister for IT Nara Lokesh would also participate in various awareness programmes on Yoga at various places, the Minister asserted.



District Collector P Prasanthi, SP D Narasimha Kishore, Additional SP Murali Krishna, JC Chinna Rayudu and Municipal Commissioner Ketan Garg were among those who participated at the programme.
