API honours Odisha physician Lalit Kumar Meher with ‘Master Teacher’ award

Bhubaneswar, Oct 1 (UNI) Eminent Odisha physician and medical educationist Prof. (Dr.) Lalit Kumar Meher has been selected for the prestigious ‘Master Teacher’ award by the Association of Physicians of India (API) for the current year.
The award, instituted by API, recognises eminent physicians for their contributions to medical education, clinical teaching and mentoring of future healthcare professionals.
Prof. Meher, a renowned Professor of General Medicine and former Director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla, is currently serving as Advisor to Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University, which runs the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
SOA Founder President Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak on Thursday congratulated Prof. Meher on his selection for the prestigious honour and felicitated him.
SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda and Dean of IMS and SUM Hospital Prof. (Dr.) Sanghamitra Mishra were present during the felicitation.
