Arunachal: ArSRLM signs MoU with PIF to strengthen rural livelihoods

Itanagar, July 1 (UNI) In a significant step towards fostering inclusive rural development, the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM), under the Department of Rural Development, on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the New Delhi-based public policy think tank Pahle India Foundation (PIF) for a three-year strategic collaboration.
The MoU outlines a shared vision to enhance institutional capacity, conduct a comprehensive skill-mapping exercise, and develop knowledge-based solutions to promote sustainable rural livelihoods across the state.
The partnership will also focus on bolstering block-level implementation mechanisms and training modules for SHG cadres, RSETIs (Rural Self Employment Training Institutes), and DDU-GKY
(Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana) Training Centres.
Key areas of collaboration include: Skill and Needs Assessment: Conducting joint assessments to identify existing skill gaps and map livelihood opportunities; Capacity Building: Designing and delivering specialized training modules for field functionaries and community cadres; Research and Policy Advocacy: Producing knowledge outputs including policy briefs, technical reports, and academic publications to inform evidence-based policymaking; Field Learning and Exchange: Organizing exposure visits and mutual learning exchanges for field-level implementation support;
and Outreach and Dissemination: Organization of workshops, seminars, and state-wide awareness campaigns.
As per the agreement, PIF will offer pro bono technical expertise, while ArSRLM will provide on-ground operational support including logistics and office infrastructure.
Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony, CEO-cum-State Mission Director of ArSRLM, Sangeeta Yirang stated, “This partnership aligns with our mission to build a resilient rural economy through knowledge-driven interventions. Collaborating with PIF will enable us to bridge critical capacity gaps and scale sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural communities.”
Executive Director of PIF, Ravi Pokharna, added, “We are excited to work with ArSRLM to translate policy research into actionable grassroots strategies. Arunachal Pradesh provides a unique opportunity to co-create models of inclusive and participatory development.”
The MoU signifies a forward-looking partnership committed to innovation, inclusion, and impactful policy implementation in Arunachal’s rural development landscape.
